This is another of the new features that forumotion has added. I went ahead and activated it. Members can post messages on each others profiles and add friends. Plus there is a bunch of other things that may or may not be useful.

I just figured it out. If you send a request and someone accepts, it doesn't show up on both profiles. I've sent requests to the members that have sent them to me.
You'll need to click on profile in the upper right hand side of the screen, go to friend and foes, then accept or deny in the "received requests" option.
I'll look into whether this is a setting, or just another oversight when the system was designed.
