Share what you're reading right now and if you like or dislike.

The Last Human War by D.S. Sault.

If you like Sci-Fi, and a book you're going to have a hard time putting down, I think you will enjoy this one. I read almost 200 hundred pages the first day and finally just had to stop at 3am because my eyes were starting to see double.

Oliver Twist - Charles Dickens (450+ Pages) <-- For my English Project, I kind of like this book.

&

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest - Ken Kesey (300+ Pages) <-- English Independent Study (Both of them for marks). I do not like this book because it an old book, doesn't make any sense and the written portion is ridiculously confusing; hard to understand the characters and plot.

Jack, are they still forcing highschool students to read that book? I think one flew over their cuckoo nests...lol.

I'm reading Queen of the Damned. I put it down for a while and wasn't that enthralled with it, but I've since gotten into enough to finish it out.

Next, I'm gonna go get Saulty's book. Sounds like a good one! Thanks Garmar.

I haven't been to the book store yet...sorry Saulty. I'm going to soon, I need a break to get out for a bit.

I'm reading a book that a friend passed to me. And I've almost finished it now: When Crickets Cry.

It's fun and enlightening. Of course, it's in line with my beliefs, so I would think that--haha. rolleyes But I think the average reader could enjoy it as well.

Finished Light and now starting (for the second time) Iron Council by China MiƩville.

It is the third in a series. The first two were Perdido Street Station, and The Scar. Rather spectacular reads, the first two. This last one has a much altered tone. It's almost a western.

Right now I'm trudging my way through The Wonderful Wizard of Oz (it was written during my character's lifetime, so it's kind of research).

In my fun time, I'm doing the Twilight thing on Audiobooks.

I love reading the Wizard of Oz to my kids. I've read some of the sequel books. They're all pretty fanastical and unique.

I was puttering around my house after finishing When Crickets Cry and decided to pull one of my 'rainy day' books off the shelf. Do you guys do this? Have like 15 random books that you got for free and have never read because they just didn't appeal to you that much?

So, it's Mary Higgins Clark Nighttime is my time
It's not bad. But it's not fantastic.

Anne of Green Gables as an ebook.
And Wizard's First Rule because ebooks are hard to transport from place to place (even if you have a laptop). My husband just finished it.
I really don't get out much, but next time I do, I'm going to Borders to bug them about Saulty's book. I'll browse around like I'm struggling to find something, then when they approach me to ask if they can help find a book, I'm going to say "Sure, where can I find The Last Human War"--by Sault... D.S. Sault? Razz

Thanks Michelle. I very much appreciate the thought. Our Borders contract is not yet complete but we just made our second shipment to Barnes & Noble (first shipment sold out in March). The nice thing about B&N is they offer the books through their online store too...and they discount the price.

The Last Human War by D S Sault

Borders will probably take another three months. These big box brick'n mortar bookstores are incredibly slow.

The book is also sold directly through my website at a discounted price and I sign each copy that is purchased direct. Plus, I have a free poster (while they last) for people who buy direct. In May, I will be suspending the direct purchase option because my national marketing plan will go into effect and I will be trying to drive sales with Barnes & Noble.

Well, brick'n mortar bookstore, internet bookstore or direct from the author...the choice is yours...and thank you.

I finally got out tonight and tried to get Borders to order The Last Human War for me. Apparently, the last time they offered to order a book for me, it was because they already had it in their computers as a part of their "stock". They told me to try with the online Borders. mad

What a Face So I'll just have to order through your website, buddy ol' pal.

As annoyed as I was, I still got another book while I was there. It's YA fiction, but someone recommended it to me. Pendragon.
I loved Wizard's First Rule! They were out of the second book in the series, so I'll have to wait. I didn't realize there was a TV show of the book. They got everything all wrong though. I couldn't watch it. Arg! Suspect

Thanks for your thoughtfulness Michelle. Unfortunately, it takes six to nine months to get into the major bookstores. I started with B&N last June and the book was released in March of this year! I started with Borders back in November and they won't do business with my national distributor...Borders will only work with one distributor, so I have to get contracted with their wholesaler before they will carry the book. I figure it will take another few months.

If you order it through the website, I'll throw in a free poster as a thank you for your effort.

I recommend ordering it through Dean's website. I ordered mine on a Friday and it was in my mail box Monday. The poster showed up on Tuesday.

Great read guys!

I was as surprised as Garmar. I mail books out "media-mail" which usually takes 5-7 work days.

hunted- by pc cast n kristin cast- it's part of the house of night series. A mother and daughter write the series together.

It's a good book if you like vampires and the twilight series. Although there isn't any werwolves in it but the vampires can imprint onto a human or another vampire.

By the way if you all like the wizard of oz and like sci-fi movies you should check out the movie TIN MAN. It is long but completely entertaining and has a wizard of Oz theme with a nice twist

That was a good mini-series. I watched it on the Sci-Fi channel last year.
