This Saturday, June 20th, me and my team (that's right, I said .. me and my team) will be running in the Steamboat Classic. It is a 15K and will be used for training for that day.

Actually, I think we got the sour end of the deal because it is a mile longer than what we were suppose to run. LOL!! Once I complete this, I will only need to figure out how to survive 17 more miles then I will be in good shape for the Chicago Marathon. LOL!!!!

:)

So today, I met with my team, we meet Weds and Sat. We ran the killer hill that is part of the Steamboat Classic that I am running in on Saturday. Anyway, we ran if five times.

I made it three times, the last two times I ran a little over half then walked the rest of the way to the top. I really felt my cheeseburger that I ate for lunch during this time. You would think that after three years that I would have learned my lesson, but noooooooo.

I'll post on Sat. let you know my time. We have two hours to finish.

Hi all
Done with the Steamboat Classic. I ran the 15k = about 9.3 miles. I finished in 1hr 49 minutes and some odd seconds. I'm slow but I'm like a steam engine, I don't stop. LOL!!!

It is a pretty big deal and a race many people join, it is said to be Illinois hardest. There was a someone from Kenya and Ethiopia and a bunch of other runners.

The fastest guy won the race in 48 minutes and 23 seconds, I believe, and the the fastest girl was 1 hr and 1 minute. The guy who won kept a pace just over five minutes, and the girl kept a pace of over 6 minutes. Far cry from my 11 to 12 minute pace. LOL!!

Anyway, hope to have you all support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Be sure to visit my page (located at the top of the thread) for information and to donate.

Thanks for the encouragement and kind words.
