Thanks, Jack!

I expect it to be pretty quiet for a while. But I still need to work some of the kinks out anyway.

I activated the chat function. It's at the bottom of the home page. We'll see how it works out for now. With our small group it could be handy, but when it gets bigger we'll probably have chaos!

Are you sure that you've activated the chat function? Because when I click the "Join the Chat" button... this phrase appears.

You are disconnected

Perhaps there is something wrong with my computer...

I agree, the chat function is recommended for small groups. However, when CW exapnds we are going to have a slight problem.

Did you log in first? There is a button on the upper right hand side of the box. If you did that and you still can't log in--let me know.

Edit: I see where the join the chat link is under the user name. That is there to open up a new window separate from the home page after you have logged into chat.

Kinda makes it handy to browse the site while you pop in to chat now and then.

Damn! Sorry I wasn't around, Jack.

I work 3-11 shift and miss the prime hours for chatting.

I'm also sorry that I wasn't around. I've been extremely busy lately.
Besides that, my day is going well so far.

I think tomorrow would probably be the worse day of the week for me because I have to write two tests. (Biology and Math)

Got to work tonight and my wife called. She put her hand through the wing window in my '84 GMC pickup while trying to open it. Laid her hand open to the bone two inches long from the second knuckle of her index finger down to the crook of her thumb.

So, they had to stitch up the muscle first, then the skin.

So, I had a great night! sarcasm

Wow! Hope everything turns out okay with your wife. Sounds like pretty nasty cut. Give her my best wishes for a quick and complete recovery.

Thanks, I will.

It bled so bad when they took the bandage off it looked like she had a glass in her hand pouring it out. I didn't know a person could bleed like that without artery damage.

Vicotin and rest. See, there is a bright side to everything. biggrin

Actually, she is very lucky. There IS a major vein running into the hand that, when cut, can cause a dangerous drop in blood pressure. My sister almost died from the same type of would on the palm of her hand. She went unconscious and medics said she would have "bled out" in another fifteen minutes.

Sorry to tell you Gary . . . the vicotin and rest are for HER! LOL

Oh... damn. scratch

Damn, that's scary about your sister. I'm glad she got medical attention in time.

She did lose quite a bit of blood. She had just picked up our son at school and tried to open that little wing vent. She bled from the truck all the way into the school nurse's office. Her clothes were covered and there is blood all over the seat of my truck. Might be why she was so pale at the doctors office. She almost fainted once while I was holding pressure on it.

Her hand is hurting so bad right now that the Vicotin isn't even helping. The local wore off a couple hours ago.

I wish I could kick my own ass for not lubricating that window...

Don't beat yourself up, Gary. We all make honest mistakes. It's just great that she'll be okay. She'll probably need some stronger pain meds for a few days and somebody else to do the cooking and cleaning until her hand heals. In 2001, I had a compound fracture, two fingers dislocated and one finger with a "radial" fracture on my left hand. It took almost a month before I could hold a fishing pole again.

She's feeling a little better today. Had an awful night though. Her bandage was a little too tight. I fixed that and she is doing much better.

Thanks, Saulty.
