Change one letter.
First topic message reminder :
This is a classic from WF that I just love.
It's easy, just change one letter in the previous posters word. Or make an anagram of it.
You can add or take away one letter unless you find an anagram. Anagrams have to be with the existing letters only.
Like this.
Goober.
Booger. 8)
Rules.
Only one change per word. Don't add/remove a letter to make an anagram work.
If you break the above rule you will be called a bad monkey.
If you can't figure out a letter or anagram change, start a new word.
The 8) is mandatory when you find an anagram!
Have fun and trash talk, but be nice!

Re: Change one letter.
excellent ebyss
As I considered variations for the letters in this word, I realized it has enormous potential as a source of creative "new" words in writing. For example, if I was describing a new alien species or creature in a sci-fi story, the new-word "earlets" would be a great way to infer rudimentary ears or hearing outlets that function like our ears but don't look the same. Other new-words could be:
farlets - adolescent offspring of a race that sends their young away just before sexual maturity. These "farlets" may only return to the culture after they have purged aggressive behavior that accompanies the transition. Some never return, choosing instead to join nomadic farlet tribes that bring destruction to all they visit.
barlets - nick name for young women who hang out in high-end bars hoping to snare a wealthy husband.
jarlets - tiny jars for holding powerful magic herbs in a sorcerer's hide.
Here's one I got so excited about that I just built it into the sequel for my current sc-fi book: marlets - small tree dwelling carnivores that live in large colonies. Individually, they possess weak, short-range telepathic abilities. About half of their communications are by this means, but when they are hunting, they can combine and project their psychic strength into a single, powerful pulse that scrambles the nervous system of their prey, rendering them unconscious.
I wrote this word (varlets) down for further "evolution".
ps Here's my next word in the game:
valets
